Your lunch, bulk, or catering purchase provides job training and funding necessary for the GO Center to carry out its mission and reach its goals.
On-The-GO Foods is a retail and catering program offered by the Guthrie Opportunity Center (GO Center), a non-profit organization serving people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in the Nelson County, KY community. Our mission is to enhance their lives and the lives of the families who love them.
Through job training, community employment, and social recreation, our goal is to assist these citizens with finding new friends, realizing future career paths, seeking independence and community integration, and unleashing creative passions. Now we can provide these unique offerings while also serving you lunch or dinner!
Our employees are highly trained and have the skills necessary to maintain gainful employment while serving you a tasty lunch or dinner. Our entire staff works to ensure every order is consistent and made up of quality ingredients. Each meal is as delicious as you expect.
Developmentally disabled adults and their families benefit from advanced skill development, personal growth, paid employment and a positive work environment. As a direct result of having meaningful work, these special members of our population have become contributors to our Community and have gained self-confidence and a sense of self-worth. Quite simply, our Community is a better place as a result of creating jobs and changing the lives of its developmentally disabled population.
Our tagline is “Work that changes lives.” Your patronage supports jobs and job training for marginalized members of the Nelson County community. Here, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities not only learn valuable life skills and earn a paycheck, but they also make friends and reach life goals, opportunities many would not have otherwise. We greatly appreciate your support so that we can provide work that changes lives.
Meals from the Heart provides food and outreach services that enable members of the Nelson County Community to live independently, with safety and dignity. Our primary mission is to visit those who are homebound and provide them with nourishing meals.
